Happy Tuesday friends!!! Summer is here and so is the 100 degree weather in Texas!! AGGHHH! I don’t know about you but some days I think I might melt over here as soon as I step out of the door. Hopefully it is cooler wherever you are!!!
Believe it or not, I’m a bit of a minimalist at heart. I don’t like a lot of clutter in my house and prefer to have basics in my closet that I can style different ways and wear in every season. It saves money and gives me a ton of different outfit options. With that being said, I have rounded up my top 10 must haves for Summer.
As I break down each item in the picture below, I’ll also share similar styles and colors in the same category . Let’s get started!!
Rattan Crossbody Bag – I own this exact bag and let me tell you, I love it so much. Some type of straw, rattan or macrame style bag screams “Summer is here!!” This adorable little bag is such a staple to be paired with all of your summer outfits. I’ve taken it to the beach, to run errands in cut offs and with fun printed dresses on date night.
Swimsuit – It’s Summer. Obviously you need a swimsuit. 🙂 I’m loving all of the fun, bold prints right now, however a simple black bikini or one piece will never go out of style and makes it super easy to wear under an outfit that will take you from the beach to lunch to shopping the day away. I have this exact suit and it runs TTS with full coverage in the booty.
Sunglasses – You always need a pair of sunglasses and my favorite style right now is the aviator because it’s such a classic look. I prefer my Rayban’s because they are polarized, however a simple, more affordable pair like these will do the trick too. This pair is only $16 and ships FREE!!!
Neckerchief / Hair Scarf – Another classic accessory for Summer is this little cutie. You can tie this around your neck, in your hair or add it to your bag for a little pop of print or color. There are a ton of options to choose from but if you want to keep it simple and easy to style with different outfits, I would go with a neutral combo like black and white. This particular one is less than $10 and comes in bright colorful prints too.
Neutral Flat Sandal – If you are using a capsule wardrobe this Summer and even if you aren’t, a simple flat sandal that will pair well with all of your outfits is a must. I just recently picked up this pair for only $14.99 and I love them so much. They are comfortable, TTS and I can wear them with my favorite cutoffs or cotton dress. They come in a light tan and black as well.
Basic Tee – Everyone needs a good quality basic tee in their closet and this exact one is my absolute favorite. I prefer a V neck over scoop or crewneck, but I will share a few of those below in case you prefer that cut. I would order your normal size for a standard fit, size down one for a more tailored cut. This one comes in several colors, although if you are going for neutrals, grab this grey or white.
Denim Shorts – I wear these more than anything because they are easy to throw on and go. It’s so easy to throw them on over your swimsuit with a basic tee and go straight to lunch after the beach or pool. Dress them up or down, wear wedges or flat sandals, sweater or tee and they are something you will wear all Summer. This particular pair is really affordable at only $24.99.
Simple Jewelry – I admit my jewelry game isn’t that strong, but that is because my personal style is to keep it simple when it comes to necklaces, earrings, etc. I like delicate pieces that are timeless, chic and affordable. I enjoy switching up my necklaces every now and then so an inexpensive set like these are perfect. It’s on sale right now for $22.50 and the quality is amazing. I’ve seen it in store and keep going back to it every single time. I just recently purchased these earrings and they are so lightweight that I forget they are on my ears sometimes. Straw Hat – I love these hats because they are another accessory that you can style with so many outfits. I’ve worn mine to the beach and shopping on vacation with a romper and cute straw bag. This one is on sale for $22.50 and great quality!!!!
Cotton Dress – This dress is super affordable at only $12.99 and comes in a few other colors. The ways you can style a dress like this are endless because you can throw on a denim jacket, sandals and a few accessories for the weekend or to run errands. Then put it on over your swimsuit to head to the pool with the kids or even lounge around in the house. Size up one for an over sized fit.
