BASICS, BASICS, BASICS
It’s so easy to get sucked into wanting all of the trendy pieces that are super cute but I’ll honestly never wear. And then there are those stunning shoes that I’m convinced should be in my closet. However, they don’t work for my everyday lifestyle so it would ultimately be wasting money. Stick with the basics!
Nope, it’s best to stick with basics here, so that’s why I’m breaking down 10 things to buy at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.
Cardigans & Sweaters
I used to think paying upwards of $50 for a cardigan or sweater was silly because I could find something almost identical at a similar, more affordable retailer later. However, as I get older, I’ve found that some of those more affordable options lack the quality as that $50 price point.
Some of the cardigans at the NSALE can be super itchy so keep an eye out for that. It’s usually bulky sweaters or really thin cardigans that aren’t worth shopping in my opinion.
Designer Items
Designer items that never go on sale are a great buy during this sale. If you like to carry a Tory Burch bag or wear Kendra Scott jewelry, those items will be on major sale! Last year I didn’t purchase a bag or anything that was out of my normal budget, however this year I’m really eyeing this Tory Burch crossbody bag!!
Gifts
It’s nice to go ahead and stock up on those really nice items you want to give as Christmas or birthday gifts. If you like to spoil your best friend with a Barefoot Dreams cardigan or blanket, those will be definitely be marked down.
Nordstrom makes sure there are a ton of beauty gift sets to choose from for both men and women. Little luxuries like Ugg slippers for your dad are something a lot of men love, including Trey!!
Shoes
This one is kind of a no brainer! I’ll be grabbing a few new Fall shoes like boots, booties and maybe a pair of mules or sneakers.
I usually get so excited about shopping just for me, BUT men’s and kid’s shoes are also on sale. If there are brands you would normally shop and the kids have just outgrown their sneakers, I would grab them now.
MY FAVORITES FOR WOMEN
Outerwear
Stock up on outer wear for the entire family! I usually shop two main brands, Patagonia and The North Face.
Athletic Apparel
For me personally, this is when I do go to more affordable retailers. Everyone is different and if you like to wear more quality athletic apparel and skip the sweaters and cardigans, go for it! I did purchase a NIKE hoodie last year and it was well worth it. I’ve worn and still wear it all the time.
It’s important that you exercise in what makes you comfortable so if you’re favorite brand is included, grab some new yoga pants.
Beauty
If the Olaplex set isn’t sold out by the time I get to shop the sale, you better believe it’s going to be in my cart!! Even if you can’t shop the sale until public access, I would recommend at least looking through the beauty section to see if anything you use is available to stock up on.
Jeans
Last but certainly not least, jeans and especially designer jeans, are a big item to buy. I’ve had my eye on a pair of black HUDSON jeans for a while and they are regularly $195, but during the sale, they are $129. Still expensive? For my typical budget, yes. But I’m planning on grabbing them to see if they are worth the price tag and hoping they fit like a glove.
